“The function of language is not to inform but to evoke.”
Jacques Lacan, Ecrits, 1966

“Sweetcases” is the frame for the Spring Summer 2014 ERIKA CAVALLINI Semi-Couture collection.

The art installation has been designed and created by Elena Borghi. It draws on the theme of travel, an unlimited and crucial source of inspiration that Erika regularly turns to in order to create the new collections, which thus take shape and become a reality.

Earth, moss, leaves, flowers, fruit and feathers become the jewels of secret gardens – perhaps imaginary, perhaps real – where the Semi-Couture woman blurs into sensuous nature with an array of riches and memories. An inseparable and loyal companion that can transport her to unknown dimensions with an otherworldly feel but, at the same time, can make her aware of her own identity without her forgetting who she is, where she is from and where she is going.

Erika Cavallini and Elena Borghi come together with a desire to create a complicit and precise dialogue, based on professional experience and a common focus on evoking a positive and poetic message.

Excelsior, Milan, Galleria del Corso, 4 – 3rd floor,
From 18 February to 1 March 2014
